Prerelease Version of Stay-Open Menu
Stay-Open Menu version 1.5.3beta is available for those who would like to help test it or anyone who is comfortable with using beta software. Otherwise, visit the Stay-Open Menu homepage. Contact me or post to the mozillazine forum thread if you find any bugs (or incompatibilities with other Firefox extensions), have comments, etc. Just be sure to mention you are using the beta. Your help in testing this beta is much appreciated.
New in 1.5.3 beta 5
- Backout compatibility fix from beta 4; this issue would still sometimes occur even without that extension installed. The issue is fixed in current trunk nightly builds of Firefox and should be in Firefox 3.7. Keeping the beta 4 patch would cause further issues with 3.7. See workaround on homepage.
New in 1.5.3 beta 4
- Fixed: Incompatibility with Add Bookmark Here 2 where the hilite would sometimes appear above the mouse pointer instead of directly underneath it, after a stay-open click (middle-click, etc.) on the bookmarks menu.
- Rename icon in root folder so it appears even with extension disabled in Firefox 3.6 and later.
New in 1.5.3 beta 3
- Fixed: When Boox-related option is enabled, right-clicking 'Mark as read' or 'Open all unread' should not activate those actions.
- Fixed: When opening multiple items from awesomebar, left-click after middle-click does not load left-clicked item (bug in 1.5.3 betas 1 and 2)
- Remove right-click workaround on alltabs menu, for compatibility with fx 3.6 (which uses right-click for context menu)
- Added jar file compression
- Declare compatibility with fx 3.7a1pre
New in 1.5.3 beta 2
- Option to keep menu open for multiple selections on the 'Permissions' subitem added by Tab Mix Plus (TMP) to the tab contextmenu (only applicable if TMP is installed and its 'Permissions' option is enabled) Usage: Enable via Tools > Add-ons > Stay-Open Menu > Options, then left-click TMP's permissions items.
- Fixed: Issue (in 1.5.3 beta 1) with automatic menu closing that gets triggered after using middle-click on an 'All tabs' menu item.
New in 1.5.3 beta 1
- New: 'All tabs' Menu stays open when middle-clicking items. The currently selected tab's item in the menu is italic and blue, rather than the default Firefox's bold black, to avoid resizing the menu's width while the menu is open.
- Fixed: 'Smart Location Bar' bug (when using shift-middleclick, pressing [Esc] clears the location bar of the current tab's URL)
- Fixed: Incorrect behavior on Smart Location Bar (aka awesomebar) when using with [Shift]. Stay-Open Menu now follows Firefox's default foreground/background behavior when opening new tabs from 'Smart Location Bar' entries.
(Whether they open in foreground or background depends upon the 'about:config' setting
browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground, and behavior reversed with the Shift key.)
- Compatible with 'Hide Caption' extension.
- General code improvements
Known issues
The 'All tabs' menu does not stay open for Ctrl-click. This may not get fixed; I cannot find any way to implement it.
There are no other known issues specific to 1.5.3; see the homepage for general known issues.
