Stay-Open Menu -- Firefox Extension

Stay-Open Menu is a extension created for Firefox® to keep the bookmarks or history menu open when middle-clicking, to enable easily opening multiple items in tabs. I find it especially handy for RSS feed (Live Bookmark) items. This extension provides similar functionality to the no longer maintained middleclicknocollapse extension currently hosted at remarqs.net.

Due to Firefox code changes, middleclicknocollapse only works on versions prior to Firefox 3. Stay-Open Menu uses different code, is designed to be used with Firefox 3, and requires version 3 to work. I am in no way associated with middleclicknocollapse or it's author, although I have used it and it worked fine for me.

Firefox 3 Firefox 3 has been recently released! Click the button to the left, if you haven't downloaded it yet.

New!  Extension is now available from addons.mozilla.org (AMO) without the need to login. As amo provides a secure server (https), all downloads are directed to that location (except for the latest beta). Older versions can be found at the AMO location as well. View Stay-Open Menu at AMO. If you currently are using an older version of Stay-Open Menu, you should now be able to use Firefox's Auto-update feature (or 'Check for updates' from the Addons dialog box) to update to the latest version.

Additional Usage Notes

Known Issue

Stay-Open Menu 1.2 is somewhat incompatible with the Add Bookmark Here ˛ Extension. The option in Add Bookmark Here ˛ for moving to the top or hiding "Open All in Tabs" is broken by Stay-Open Menu 1.2. This applies to "Show menu at top" in the similarly named Add Bookmark Here) as well. Stay-Open Menu 1.0 does not cause these issues. (Version 1.0 is availble from the versions page at amo.) This issue will also be fixed in Version 1.4, which is currently in testing. More information on Stay-Open Menu 1.4 (beta).
